Geotechnical Mining Services was created to support site-based mining technical staff with auxiliary geotechnical tasks, without the need to pay for consultants.
The company was formed by three mine site based geotechnical engineers with over 40 years experience collectively. During our careers, we often found ourselves in a position where we needed assistance with tasks that did not require the expertise of an experienced geotechnical engineer or consultant. The requirement to install instrumentation, core logging and ground support quality control is important, however, not necessarily the best use of expertise and resources. Having the option to utilise an experienced mining person who not only understands the importance of these tasks but can complete them autonomously is invaluable.
Our support services engage in tasks ranging from ground support quality control (pull testing, collecting grout samples, installation compliance inspections), installation of monitoring instrumentation (digital cable bolts, digital extensometers and microseismic systems) to geotechnical core logging.
All of our staff are trained and supported by our experienced geotechnical engineering directors.
